This Blog is centered at equipping, encouraging, and ushering Sunday school teachers and aspiring Sunday school teachers on how to plan, teach Bible lessons effectively, how to grow as a Sunday school teacher. This blog goes over issues Sunday school teachers face and how to tackle these issues in the classroom and beyond.
Sunday school: Effective ways of making your lesson cater to all learning types.
We all know that not all learners are the same, every learner understands things differently, every learner processes information differently, and every learner has their own unique learning style. Preparing and setting up for a lesson, can be a nightmare of its own, what more accommodating each learners learning style. Amanda what are you saying? I hear you asking me, relax it isn’t as complex as it sounds. It is possible to have a lesson, a simple lesson for that matter that, just caters to every learning style.
2.
Analytic learner: This type of learner; learns
through watching and listening. This learner evaluates information given to him
or her by the teacher and cautiously assess it. This type of learner is
considered to be a perfectionist, and goes out of his or her way to be right
and good. They learn through receiving factual information.
3.
Common Sense learner: This type of learner is a
practical learner, they like DOING more than anything. They like to test
theories, to see possibilities of what works and what doesn’t. They come up
with ideas of how to solve a problem; this learner thrives when learning is
combined with doing.
4. Dynamic learner: This type of learner is more of an explorer, an adventurer, and risk taker. Like the common sense learner the dynamic learner does appreciate a good experience of getting things done. They thrive in situations that demand flexibility, and change. They love starting something new, and being authentic in any project they are involved in.
The purpose of a lesson is to introduce new information, share information, and to provide a learning moment that leads to creative application. I am sorry if that sounds a little bit much, if it does read it slooooower and think about it.
